Reminders for the week:

Home and School Wednesday Dress Down $20 due. The $20 is per family.

Just a reminder to please sign the planner each night.

My weekly notes will contain information about reading, spelling, grammar, and math just for the second graders. Handwriting, Religion, Science, and Social Studies will be for first and second graders.

Reading: We will read the story, “Clark the Shark.”

Spelling: Our spelling words this week contain the short a or short i vowel sound.

Grammar: We are learning about subjects and predicates this week.

Math: We will be reviewing left and right; identifying one more and one less; telling time to the hour and counting to 100.

Handwriting: First grade: a, d, o, g

Second grade: Aa, Dd, Oo, Gg

Religion: We will be learning about God Our Loving Creator, and the Blessed Trinity.

Science: This week we will talk about scientists. Please send something small enough to be viewed under a microscope to school on Wednesday.

Social Studies: This week we will be learning about communities. We will talk about urban, suburban, and rural communities.
